Do I only require a Short Engine?
The short engine is often purchased as a replacement unit in situations where the cylinder head is serviceable. Before installing this newly built unit, it is a good idea to question what made the original fail. A couple of common causes of bottom-end failings are;
- Incorrectly set carburettor, Bore wash is a very common cause of bottom-end failure. This can be caused by a carb in need of an overhaul or by the mixture being set incorrectly. The bores glaze causes poor pressure readings but also allows fuel to then breach the rings and dilute the oil.
- Incorrectly set timing. Another common cause can have catastrophic results.
All of the engines that we build are built using new components throughout, this ensures that whether you are purchasing a Short-Engine or a full Stage 3 Road Engine, you get peace of mind that the engines are built to the highest standards using all new, quality components. We stand behind our warranty with pride for our work.
